Segway Classes and Tours
- Riders must be 12 or older to ride at the Science Center
- Riders 16 and up can ride on Missouri Tours
- Riders 12 and up can ride on Illinois Tours
- Riders must be between 100 and 260 pounds

Whether it's your first experience or you're a Segway Pro, the Saint Louis Science Center has a Segway program for you! Glide along on a Segway Human Transporter, balanced by the technology that keeps the space station level.
Segway 101
Learn the basics in this beginner class. In addition to climbing on and gliding around the St. Louis Science Center's Segway School, you will also learn what makes it tick, what is safe and walk away with your very own personalized Segway Operator License. We will practice basic moves, navigate ramps and work on turns. We share Segways in this class so you also get experience getting on and off the machine.

Segway 201
Take your skills a step further with Segway 201. This mini tour lets you experience different terrains around the James S. McDonnell Planetarium and our corner of Forest Park. In this class everyone rides their own Segway and we go outside! This can also be tailored to another location. Segway 101 is a prerequisite.

Segway Date Night
Plan a date that is fun, unusual and unforgettable! Meet us at the Boat House in Forest Park to start off our Date Night. This tour will highlight idyllic locations throughout Forest Park perfect for a romantic photos. After this two hour tour, we will end at the Boat House where you can continue your special night in Forest Park. Pre-registration required. Segway 101 is a prerequisite.

Glided Tours
We have an amazing set of tours that will let you experience the St. Louis area like never before. Take a historical turn around Forest Park, ride the levee and look for Eagles in Alton or meet us on historic Route 66. Each tour offers something different to explore while gliding with friends!
Public Segway Tours are available on weekends through Nov. 28, or book a private tour anytime. Call Olivia at 314.289.1418 for more details.
Forest Park Historic Tour
Atop your Segway, you will experience Forest Park in a whole new way. After a brief class, we will glide along the park's interconnecting network of roads, paths and bike trails. Your tour leader will give you a brief history of the park's many famed attractions such as the History Museum, Steinberg Skating Rink, the World's Fair Pavilion, Jewel Box and the restored Grand Basin with its magnificent fountains, wildlife and rental boats.

Sunrise Segways
Enjoy the early morning sights and sounds of Forest Park while gliding on a Segway! Meet us at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium for your training session and then we'll ride our Segways to Forest Perk Cafe to enjoy breakfast before continuing our tour of the park.

Nature Glide Brunch Tour
Take a high-tech nature hike! After a short training class we will glide off into Forest Park for brunch at The Boat House and then experience the path less traveled in Forest Park to see more of the nature that our park has to offer. We will glide through the Kennedy Forest testing your knowledge of the beautiful Missouri trees, crossover the Tamm overpass to Turtle Park and pass by the renowned St. Louis Zoo.

Glided Tour - Alton
Starting at the National Great Rivers Museum take a short training class and then glide along the levee into the historic town of Alton. Learn a brief history of the Melvin Price Locks and Dam, hear about the Lincoln-Douglas Debate, see the first of its kind Clark Bridge, and much more.

Taste of Alton
We will start off with a quick training class on the Segway and then head out for all the sights and sounds of the glided Alton tour plus enjoy a great dining experience at My Just Desserts.

Meet Me on Route 66
Meet on the Illinois side of the river and ride the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge across the Mississippi. Follow the bike trail down the Missouri side of the river learning history of the famous Route 66.

Glided Tour - Hartford
This tour starts at the Lewis and Clark State Historical Site, located in Hartford, Il. After a brief training you will get to experience the fort where Lewis and Clark started their westward journey. You will see the confluence where the great rivers meet. And experience first hand the spectacular view of the 150 foot tall Hartford Tower where you can see for miles!

Want to learn how to ride a Segway, but don't have the time for the Segway 101 class? No Problem! Try our Segway 5-4-5. You get quick instruction and 5 minutes to ride a Segway. We can even bring this program to your location!
Segways at your Event!
Find out about customized programs related to the Segway Human Transporter. Participants must be at least 12 years old, weigh a minimum of 100 lbs and a maximum of 260 lbs. Bring your group to the Saint Louis Science Center or we can come to you. Cost depends on the number of Segways and customized length of program.
