CSI: The Case of the Missing Millionaire

This program is best suited for a series-based or ongoing program, such as a day camp, or multi-week sessions. Students will, over the course of several days, solve an entire mystery using clues found at the "scene of the crime." Students will analyze footprints, clothing, stains, hair samples, suspect profiles and other mysterious trace samples to determine whodunit!
Program length: Total 1-4 hours

Electrify and Energize Me

Construct a simple circuit, explore currents and switches discover static electricity through using a Van De Graaf Generator. Explore electricity and energy through engaging hands-on activities. We will start from a simple understanding of a circuit and move to more complex challenges.

Icky Sticky Science

The fun hands-on activities will build an interest in science, increase understanding of science concepts and develop process skills. discussions may include oobleck, slime, silly putty, pop rockets and more. For older participants, discussion may include difference in types of polymers, plastics, and recycling. Participants will keep their own hand-made polymer mixture.

Physics Phun

Explore the world of force and motion using challenge-based activities. Groups rotate through multiple stations or focus on a specific content area by means of a guided experience. Investigations may also cover matter and energy, magnetism or simple machines.

Structures

How do buildings stand up? How can an arch hold weight? Explore the physics behind structures by building and experimenting with Roman Arches and bridges.
Program length: 1 hour

Symmetry

Learn about patterns through interactive activities, including fun-house mirrors, tie-dye patterns, mosaics, and Escher patterns. Program length: 1-hour

The Science OFF Center Team will work with your Scout group, youth serving agency, or other non-formal education group to personalize our programs to meet your needs. We will come to any event!
