Summer Camp FAQ

We're happy you are consdiering the Science Center for Summer Camp. Our camp counselors strive to create fun, hands-on camps that get kids excited about learning all summer long! There is a lot to know about Summer Camp. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked:

QHow do I register my child?

AThis year we are introducing online registration! Registration will open January 1, 2012 for Science Center Members. Registrations will be accepted online, by mail or by fax. Phone registrations will not be accepted. Online registration will take priority over mailed or faxed registrations. Science Center Members will receive priority registration until Feb. 24.

QCan I use one registration form for multiple campers?

APlease fill out a separate registration form for each child to ensure accurate registration.

QWhere do I send my completed registration form(s)?

AYou can fill out your registration form online. Or if you would prefer, mail completed forms and payment to: Saint Louis Science Center, Public Programs Department, 5050 Oakland Ave. St. Louis, Mo 63110 or fax completed forms to Saint Louis Science Center, Public Programs Department 314.535.0104.

Our camp registrar does not work weekends. You can access the online regisrtraion system at anytime. Online registrations will take priority over registrations that are mailed or faxed.

QWhat is priority registration?

AScience Center members will get priority registration until Feb. 24. This means members who turn in their registration before Feb. 24 will be bumped to the front of the registration line. Science Center Members will have access to our online registration process early!

QWhere are camp classes held?

AFor grades 1-12, classes are held at Saint Louis University High School, located just east of the Science Center. Our PreK-K campers, however, will remain in a classroom at the Science Center. All camps, however, pick-up and drop-off at the circle drive of the Science Center.

QWhy are classes not held at the Science Center? I want my child to experience the museum.

AEvery camp session does include time in the museum. We make sure to build a museum experience into each camp curriculum. Unfortunately, the Science Center has limited classroom space. Holding our structured class time at SLUH and including "fieldtrips" to the museum allows for a more consistent and constructive learning environment.

QAre lunches available for purchase?

ALunches are not available for purchase. All campers must bring a sack lunch each day. Please mark your child's name clearly on his/herlunch bag.
