Animal Mysteries
How do you know what animals live in your neighborhood? Why do animals live where they live? Become a Junior Naturalist as we explore all things animals! From listening to sounds to exploring a variety of habitats, we'll learn how animals are suited to their environments and how to figure out what animals might be living in our own backyard!
Dino Discovery
Get ready to dig into dinosaurs! We'll explore prehistoric worlds as we learn about fossils and dinosaurs. From mini excavations to exploring real dinosaur bones, we'll be digging into the past to discover all about those great lizards that once walked the Earth.
Earth Explorers
Dig into dirt, howl like wolves and grow plants for a wonderful science experience! Campers will explore the living world around them through hands-on activities. Together we'll explore what living things need, learn ways to find shy animals, explore how the water cycle works and much more!
My Body
How do young bodies in motion stay in motion? Why can you jump, bend and play? Join us for five days of active exploration that will keep you moving and grooving.
Science in Action
Get ready for chemistry! There are lots of fun, simple chemical reactions right in your kitchen! Curious campers will mix different things to explore amazing changes. Hands-on activities will lead to bubbles, slime and strange color changing liquids. We'll also develop our scientific skills as we make observations, measure ingredients and try to guess what is going to happen next!
Science Discovery
Play, explore and learn all at the same time! Together we'll explore simple chemistry, play with magnets and learn simple science skills. And while we are having fun, your little one will be developing scientific inquiry skills through making observations and guesses about what is going to happen next!
Science in Motion*
The Science Center is happy to partner once again with Kids 'n Motion. Together we'll offer this exciting program that will get your young scientist exercising their body as well as their brain. Led by licensed Occupational Therapist Erica Furrer of Kids 'n Motion, campers will learn a variety of exercise and fitness techniques by using equipment designed just for their size! The exercise portion of the class will be followed by a fun activity based program led by Science Center camp counselors covering a wide range of science concepts.
Cost: $180/$144 for Plus and Max members
Senses
Our senses are amazing. Learn how we connect with our world as we play with our five senses. From optical illusions to seeing how well we can stand on one foot, we'll see how our senses, brain and body work together!
Storybook Science
Through the magic of fiction we'll explore the world of science! Each session will begin with storytime and different books will be used each day. Our reading time will be followed by hands-on activities related to the themes and/or characters from our books.
There's No Place Like Space
3...2...1...Blast Off! Get ready to rocket into orbit and explore things that are out of this world! Learn why our sun is so important. Discover the planets of the solar system and what makes each one special. Visit the James S. McDonnell Planetarium for a special show. And maybe, if the timing is right, we can even observe the moon!
All fees are due with registration form. Science Center membership must be valid at time of registration to receive member rate. Member discounts are for the Plus and Max membership levels only. All camp fees include one free 2012 Summer Science Blast T-Shirt.
Registrations must be received at least 10 days prior to the start of each session. Courses with fewer than 8 campers enrolled 10 days prior to the start of the session may be subject to cancellation. In this instance, we will contact you immediately to reschedule or issue a refund.
