When I first joined up with ScienceOffCenter, my first blog post was about the weird creatures called axolotls. . We have them here at the St. Louis Science Center in the Life Science Lab as expamples of different lab animals.

When the Life Science Lab raised their axolotls they were kind enough to let me take home not one but TWO little axolotls. Well they grew up and turns out I had a male a female. Come New Years Eve I had an interesting surprise waiting for me. They laid eggs!

I took this opportunity to observe and photograph the development of these amazing creatures. It was so cool to watch them mature from tiny eggs that looked like dark balls, into the baby axolotls they are now. I thought it only appropriate to share this experience with you!
